I heard somewhere that something like one in twenty men feel compelled to
wear women’s clothes. For such a popular pastime, transvestism, crossdressing,
and transsexuality sure does take a beating from mainstream society.
I'm sure that any number of sociologists could tell you why, but frankly,
I don't care. I just want them to change their views a little and let us get
on with our lives, without all the hassle.
Because society tends to take a dim view of transgendered people, we often
feel bad about ourselves, or our situation, or whatever. This is where the
social and support groups come in handy. Yes, one man in twenty. That means,
dear, that there are a hell of a lot of people out there who feel just the
way you do, and would like to help. Gads, you might even make others feel
better just by getting in contact.
